This charming project has a fairytale-esq back story. The wife, originally from France, grew up in the original home on this property in an established neighborhood on the east side of Reno. The husband is from England and very properly English. After a successful career in the Bay area, the couple wanted to retire to her family home however it was quite small and in need of a great deal of structural repair. They decided instead, to essentially start over and build a New England style home with a decidedly Old England style interior, on the existing property. A traditional Shaker style door, using very traditional English woods - oak and walnut - went a long way to achieve this goal.
