This '70s home in west Reno had beautiful simple bones, soaring ceilings and clerestory windows that flooded the space with light. The existing cabinetry, however, was well past its best, and the layout inefficient. Our brief for this remodel was to update the look and improve the efficiency of the layout in both the kitchen and bathrooms while paying respect to the age of the house. A Mid-Century Modern vibe was chosen, with funky tile accents to pep up an otherwise simple cabinetry backdrop. Storage was dramatically increased by the efficient use of drawer inserts, roll-out shelves and hidden appliances.
