Allison’s love for residential design and remodeling began as a child while watching the iconic PBS show “This Old House” every Saturday morning with her father. Always itching to have a project of her own, Allison learned to appreciate the importance of method and detail while learning to refinish furniture in her father’s workshop. As an adult, Allison obtained a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling and spent over a decade working with children and young adults. Desiring a return to more tangible pursuits, Allison founded a successful residential painting company before eventually finding her way to custom cabinetry design. When asked if she ever misses the counseling profession, Allison is quick to note that the process of new construction or remodeling is inherently stressful henceforth providing her with ample opportunities to practice her counseling skills. Outside of the studio and as a full-time mom, Allison enjoys watching her two children, Emily and Michael, develop their own passions for art, music and sports.
